It may have been near freezing weather, but take one look at Racey and Austin’s Winter Wedding at The Grand Ivory and you’ll have all the heart-eyes! I know I did! Leaving this wedding, I couldn’t wait to start working on their beautiful images.

Knowing that it was going to be a chilly day, I brought my parka and my Hot Hands and headed off to my first wedding of 2021. Racey and Austin are total rockstars and braved the cold to get amazing outdoor natural-light portraits.

Racey and Austin tied the knot on January 1st and it was full of winter charm. Evergreen trees lined the chapel alter and cedar leaves and holly helped give it an elegant festive feel. The day could not have been more perfect for these two high school sweethearts. Willner Weddings did such a great job helping make this wedding day run smoothly! Michaela even braved the cold during portraits to hold Racey’s dress off the damp grass and be our official veil thrower! It was such a pleasure to work with them.

I enjoyed getting to know these two during their Christmas tree farm engagement session. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to document their love story. Racey and Austin, Congratulations on this new chapter of your lives and thank you for having me!

Advice from the Bride:

What was your Wedding Planning Experience like?

My wedding planning experience has honestly been so nice. Hiring a florist/coordinator was the best decision I could have made. The only thing that has been a bit stressful are the plans for after the wedding. We are in the process of buying a home, I am finishing my last semester in college, and job searching for when I graduate all at the same time. I wouldn’t have it any other way though.

Advice to Brides who are currently planning their Weddings

Do what makes you happy and stick to your budget! Don’t get lost in the “pinterest worthy” weddings. The day is about you and your future husband at the end of the day, all the other things will fall into place.
