Lucy and Ted’s Texas Discovery Gardens Wedding was everything I could hope for and more! This was my first wedding at Texas Discovery Gardens and it did not disappoint. I first fell in love with this venue when I visited for Lucy’s bridal session. The beautiful gardens, rich culture and the butterfly sanctuary all made this venue one-of-a-kind.
Lucy told me she and Ted love city life and wanted their wedding to be at a place that they both enjoyed visiting. They even chose to have their engagement session at The Kimbell Art Museum followed by exploring downtown Fort Worth.
Lucy looked absolutely stunning in her Allure wedding gown. Although they did a first look where they read each other their vows, Ted’s eyes still teared up as she walked down the aisle. The moment was here! They were really about to become husband and wife.
Although this wedding had so many wonderful moments, I think my favorite was the choreographed dance between Ted and his Mom, Cynthia. It made me think of my own son’s wedding (far down the road) and how I would love to do something like that with him.
Lucy and Ted, Thank you so much for having me be apart of your wedding story. It has been my honor to capture these moments for you. Enjoy some of my favorite moments from your Wedding!
Advice from the Couple
What was your Wedding Planning Experience like How did you feel, how did you handle any stress? Was it easier or more difficult than you first thought?
Wedding planning during a pandemic was an interesting experience! We had to be flexible with plans and remember the reason for our wedding – to start our marriage together. It was definitely overwhelming at the beginning, but we were able to work together and keep things manageable.
Advice to Brides who are currently planning their Weddings.
Having a long engagement was very beneficial to our planning process! We were able to book our high-priority vendors early and take our time with the big decisions. We would highly recommend staying organized by using a shared email account, a Google spreadsheet for wedding planning/to-dos, and a Google Drive folder to organize all of our contracts. Lean on each other to make decisions and create the vision of your wedding day. Use this time to get better at working together to manage money and tasks. It was important for us to make decisions that we both agreed on, because it’s the wedding day for both of us!
