Ashley and Ryan’s Spring Engagement at Adriatica is wayyyyyy over due. I’m excited to finally be sharing their engagement session on the blog. They will be getting married this Winter at The Mason in Dallas.

How did you two meet?

We met on a dating app – Coffee Meets Bagel. After chatting for a while on the app, we finally met for our first date at the Katy Trail Outpost. We talked all the way until closing time.

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?

Ryan- She had a picture on her profile at a Comic Con and I thought she might be pretty interesting.

Ashley- I don’t remember seeing much on his dating profile, but I thought he was really cute. Once we started messaging, I found out we had a lot in common.

Tell us your engagement story!

We got engaged in October 2021 on a week long trip to Tennessee and North Carolina. Ryan carried the ring around in his pocket the entire trip waiting to find the perfect place to propose. On the day before we were set to head home, we decided to do one last hike in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. When we were looking for potential hikes, the Rainbow Falls hike was highly recommended. Ryan insisted we go that last day because he had a good feeling it would be special. Unbeknownst to me, he planned to propose. So we got up early that morning and started the hike. It was a long hike with a lot of elevation, but we knew that seeing the waterfall at the top would be worthwhile. When we reached the end of the trail at the base of the waterfall, Ryan turned around and showed me the ring and asked if I’d marry him. I of course said yes! The hike was totally worth it!

What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?

Ryan- That I get to spend the rest of my life with the most awesome person I know. Ashley- I am excited to declare my love for Ryan in front of our friends and family.

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

We are still in the midst of the planning process. It has been a bit stressful sorting through all the to do items and trying to pick all the rights things, but we recommend being patient and try to have fun.

How was your overall session experience?

We were both a little stressed going into it hoping that we didn’t look silly in the final photos. But we both ended up having a lot of fun and Kimberly did a great job directing us to make the photos look great!

Share something interesting about your significant other!

Ryan- Ashley has two birthdays. (WHHAAT? You’re going to have to explain next time we meet up!)

Ashley- Our dog, Mitzi, likes Ryan way better than me. Even though I adopted her 4 years before we even met. He is the Mitzi whisperer.
