Sara and Tommy’s engagement session at Arlington Hall in Turtle Creek was an absolute delight, despite the unexpected weather pivot. Dodging thunderstorms added an element of adventure to our shoot, and we made the most of every moment together. As we explored the charming grounds of Arlington Hall, the connection between Sara and Tommy was evident. Tommy has a way of making Sara smile – they truly light each other up.

Amidst the backdrop of Texas charm, we shared stories, getting to know each other beyond the lens. I told them that I homeschool my son and turns out — Tommy was homeschooled for a long time! These two were so sweet and had the best attitudes despite the humidity. It was evident that despite living in Idaho, their hearts were set on Texas for their upcoming wedding this Fall at Chateau Joli. Here’s to Sara and Tommy, embarking on a new chapter filled with love, laughter, and endless adventures!

More About The Couple

How did you two meet?

We originally met in college at Harding University during freshman year, sitting next to each other during our bible class. Tommy played soccer and I played volleyball for the University. We had many mutual friends and would be at the same get togethers, chatting a little bit here and there. We followed each other on different social media platforms and after college, would occasionally message each other but we lived in different states, so I didn’t think much of it. A few years past, and one day I received a message from him. This time it was intentional and next thing you know, we were texting and Face Timing every day. He booked a flight from Boise, Idaho to Dallas, Texas to come visit for the weekend. We had a great time, and I knew that he would be someone special from the beginning of our relationship.

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?

Tommy pursued me from the beginning of our relationship – he was kind, genuine, and loved the Lord. Plus he’s pretty cute! 😉

Sara is very intentional and makes me feel important! I love how caring and kind she is to all those around her. Ditto the cute! 😂

Tell us your engagement story!

Tommy planned for us to go to Mount Rainer National Park with his sister and brother-in-law one weekend! We went hiking with our dogs in the snow around the mountain. When we got to the most picturesque spot, he got down on one knee and asked the question! We popped champagne and celebrated

What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?

We are most excited to see all of our loved ones come together to celebrate our union! The first look will be a special moment between us and to see all the hard work leading up to the day unfold.

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

Enjoy the process and make every moment fun! It will seem that there’s a million things to do at the beginning but getting recommendations from people you trust and your planner can make it easier!

How was your overall session experience?

Kimberly made the session very fun! (Tommy even said he liked it!) She was helpful and patient helping us getting into all the poses. This made the engagement session very easy on us and we just got to enjoy the moment and be present in the process. The pre-session booklet was also beneficial in planning our outfits and knowing what to expect. We are both extremely excited to work with Kimberly for our wedding day!

Share something interesting about your significant other!

When Tommy helped me move from Dallas TX to Boise ID, we stoped at 4 national parks on the way. Seeing the world and going on adventures has become one of our favorite things to do together!
