It was a gorgeous day for Kristina and Justin’s Engagement at Bella Cavalli Events. This was by far one of the most unique engagement sessions I have ever done. Not only did I get a chance to meet this amazing couple, we also got to play with Teddy, their dog and a host of other animals such as a camel, horses and two deer.

I had so much fun at this session and I can’t wait for Kristina and Justin to tie the knot this Fall at the Dallas Arboretum.

More about the Couple

How did you two meet?

During college we met through mutual friends, Best Man Adrian and Bridesmaid Rebecca. Adrian was having his 21st birthday party in College Station, and Justin drove in from Austin to celebrate. We ran into each other at a couple other group hangouts once we had both returned to Dallas. We eventually hit it off at a Super Bowl party and started dating shortly after. Our first date was at Whiskey Cake the day before Valentine’s Day.

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?

Justin: I have always been attracted to Kristina’s fiery personality and how loyal she is to her friends. Also, the night that we first met she had firetruck red hair that was very memorable! As I got to know her more, her humor and goofy side made me fall in love with her.

Kristina: After our initial meeting, where Justin was so tired he fell asleep at the party, I didn’t pay him much attention. In later hang outs, I found him to be confident and a gripping story teller with a charming sense of humor. I also found him to be quite handsome!

Tell us your engagement story!

Although COVID originally threw a wrench in our plans, we became engaged on December 20th of 2020. Justin had planned a day of ‘reindeer games’ that involved gift wrapping, cookie decorating, name that Christmas song, Christmas trivia, and a race around the house to turn on all the Christmas lights. Kristina won 3 of the events! At the end of the night there was a dinner of champions where Justin made the first meal that he had ever cooked for us, Chicken Parmesan and Green Beans. Justin gave Kristina a beautifully worded card that directed her to check her stocking which had a blue raspberry Ring Pop (Kristina’s favorite flavor!) inside. He then proposed and she said yes! It was a very special night for us and one that we will never forget.

What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?

Justin: I can’t wait to have our first dance and celebrate our marriage with all of our family and friends. I know that Kristina will look so beautiful on our wedding day!

Kristina: I’m most excited about the ceremony and the different pieces that we are planning for it — also dancing the night away!

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

Although Justin didn’t believe Kristina at first, we are very grateful for how early we started planning the wedding! The amount of thought and time required for such an important event is incredible, and we are very thankful that we started planning a year and a half in advance.

How was your overall session experience?

We loved having our photos taken with you at Bella Cavalli! There were so many fun moments between the horses, lake, and our dog Teddy! We greatly enjoyed working with you and your husband; you guys make everything so fun and easy.

Share something interesting about your significant other!

Justin: Kristina has a very expressive face! I love all the little intricacies there are when she finds something funny or surprising.

Kristina: Justin can fall asleep pretty much anywhere: sitting, standing, in public, etc. (A lot of our friends have seen him fall asleep during a zoom call) It is quite a talent!
