Engagement Session

June 8, 2020

Paige and Cameron’s White Rock Lake engagement session on Saturday could not have been more perfect! These two are super sweet and a hoot to be around. Seriously, they are so much fun to be around.

Their wedding was originally planned for June 7th, plans had to change due to Coronavirus. They rescheduled for October and I cannot wait for their wedding at Cross Creek Ranch….Pies, Fried Chicken, cooler weather and all.

Cameron and Paige, Thanks for spending the evening with me. I loved getting to know you both! Enjoy some of my favorites from your White Rock Lake engagement session!

About the couple

How did you two meet?

Paige and Cameron met at the University of Arkansas and lived in the same dorm. Paige and Cameron were both highly involved throughout campus. In 2013, Cameron was invited to go meet Paige and her roommate, Sarah. When he got there, Paige was in bed doing homework and was completely oblivious that Cameron was there. After Cameron left, Paige said that she and Sarah talked about how cute he was. He started to stop by more frequently in hopes of getting to know Paige more. They began to talk a lot more and became good friends. He started to come to her room after cheer practice every night and knew she was starting to like him when she started to do her hair before heI would get there every night

Freshmen year ended and Cameron decided to change colleges to join a different cheer team. Although, they were both sad, they decided to keep in touch and would Facetime every night for hours. At the end of June, Paige came back to Arkansas from Texas and they went on their first date to Hog House in Fayetteville. Then, when she came back to Fayetteville, He gave her a charm bracelet with a razorback representing where they met and a charm of the number 7 representing the day he asked Paige to be his girlfriend.

The 2nd semester of sophomore year Cameron came back to the U of A. They graduated the U of A in 2017. Paige got a job and moved to her hometown in Texas. Cameron on the other hand got a job and Kansas City, Missouri. Although apart, they face timed every night and traveled often to see each other. In November 2018, he bought the engagement ring and would wait until he moved to Texas to propose to her.

In May of 2019 Cameron got a new job and moved to Texas which meant they would never be long distance again. The second he moved to Texas he knew I was ready to propose but wanted to wait for the right time.

While at the lake with Paige and her parents, Cameron sat on the porch with Bud (Paige’s dad) and asked to marry his daughter. Bud said “Yes” and welcomed him into the family. Paige mentioned she wanted to visit Fredericksburg, Texas which was when he realized this would be the perfect time to pop the question. He ended up choosing Grape Creek Vineyards and scheduled the engagement. He hired a photographer and started to think of the words he would use to ask Paige to marry him.

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?

Cameron is so authentically himself, he was never afraid to be goofy and joke around. He is so outgoing and fun to be around. He is also very determined and a hard worker, and will work for any goal he sets for himself. Paige was a really pretty, smart, motivated girl who played hard to get, but I finally got her.

Tell us your engagement story!

We started the day both excited to see the city of Fredericksburg. I had planned the whole day and had a specific schedule to follow. She was just excited to explore, all while I is very nervous knowing what I was going to do later. We went to breakfast at an old German bakery she had found and then walked around downtown, went to a wine tasting and food pairing for lunch. I told Paige we needed to dress up that evening because I had reservations at the restaurant at the winery. Even though it was very hot outside, I wore my suit jacket so I would have somewhere to put the ring. We got an Uber and with every second I got a little more nervous.

We arrived at Grape Creek vineyard where I surprised Paige and said I had booked a “a walking tour” aka the code word the winery uses for engagement. The manager of the winery starts talking about the start of the winery while walking to the vineyard. He walks Paige and I to the middle of the vineyard and receives a fake call and says he had to go get some more people and would be right back. He walked away and Paige immediately starts looking for grapes on the vines and starts walking away. Grabbing her hand and pulling her close, I told her how much I love her and how I want to be with her forever. I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes! Everyone at the nearby wine bar cheered and clapped. I finally got to tell her how I had planned this whole day and had bought her ring the year prior. She was shocked! We’ve been together for almost six years now and are extremely excited to get married and to share our special day with you all.

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

This will be the best day of your lives, don’t sweat the details and remember what the day is about. We personalized the day with what we like and want. So we will have pies instead of cake and fried chicken and mashed potatoes vs nicer traditional dinner!

Share something interesting about your significant other!

Cameron is the best cook. He can make anything and everything under the sun! I love when he makes a new meal for the first time!

Paige always has a new hobby, since we have been together she has made pet bow ties, cake decroating, cycle, running, cross stich, and gardening!
