This White Rock Lake Engagement session is giving me all the feels right now! Kat and Thomas originally had their eyes set on the Dallas Arboretum for their engagement session, however, we rescheduled due to the Coronavirus. With fears that the Arboretum would still be closed to the public, they choose White Rock lake as the new location for their engagement session. Kat told me she loved the mix of water and nature and she was right! It really was the perfect place for their engagement session!
Kat and Thomas are the absolute sweetest and I am really excited about their wedding in December at Brake and Clutch Warehouse!
See below for some of my favorites from their super cute Dallas Engagement at White Rock Lake Session!
And because we needed to document the current situation….
More about the Couple
How did you two meet?
We met when we were living in Little Rock. He asked me out to brunch ( which was my first favorite thing about him) then we ordered mimosas and talked for hours. Leaving that first date I knew there was something special about him.
What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?
Thomas has the BEST sense of humor, he still makes me laugh all the time.
Kat laughs at most of what I joke about and also liked to joke around which was fun!
Tell us your engagement story!
Christmas is my favorite holiday and Thomas has a strict tradition of not decorating anything until after thanksgiving. So we have a Black Friday tradition of decorating the house and making homemade pizza. Since I am a nurse, I had to work Thanksgiving and Black Friday this year so Thomas broke his rule and we did our decorating tradition on the Wednesday before thanksgiving instead. We decorated the house, ate our pizza, and snuggled up on the couch with our dogs in our pajamas. I had gotten up to get nail polish remover from upstairs (as I had just peeled off my gel nail polish…) and came downstairs and saw the star and several ornaments had fallen off the tree. Thomas said that I had knocked them off when I walked by. So I picked them up and put the star back on and turned around to Thomas on one knee. Needless to say I said yes!
What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?
Celebrating our day with all our family and friends. Plus who doesn’t love a great dance party?
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Wedding planning should be fun and exciting, if you start feeling overwhelmed or stressed out ask for help! I tried to do all the wedding planning by myself (big LOL because I do not have a designer’s eye. I quickly realized that I was way more stressed out and not enjoying the process like I should be. We ave also made a point to have nights where we don’t talk about the wedding and have a date night instead! Its fun and a great reminder of the main reason behind the big party.
How was your overall session experience?
We absolutely loved our session with Kimberly. She has such a fun and bubbly attitude that we felt so comfortable and confident during our shoot. Thomas isn’t a huge fan of getting his picture taken but she gave us the right poses and advice to make it natural and to bring out our personalities.
Kat and Thomas, I had such a fun time hanging out with you guys! I am even more excited about your December wedding — if that is even possible!
