Lisa and Eric’s engagement at Murrell Park was down right perfect! They brought along their golden doodle, Bentley, for some pictures as well.
I loved getting to know them both and I thought it was so cool that Eric is actually a geologist! I’m not going to lie, I think Murrell park was the perfect spot for their engagement session because of the rocky lakeside!
I think saying I am excited for their June wedding at D’Vine Grace Vineyards is an understatement. Guys…with these two…I know it is going to be MAGICAL!
Here are a few of my favorites from Lisa and Eric’s engagement session at Murrell Park.
How did you two meet?
Eric and I met on Tinder over 4 years ago. Our first date was on a Sunday at the end of August. We went to Happiest Hour in Victory park to watch the cowboys game. The date went so well that we watched the game, got dinner, and then ended up walking around. Our first date lasted over 7 hours! Our conversation flowed smoothly and I knew he was going to be different and someone special. His friends joked that they knew I was the one before he even went on the date because he had gone over to his friends house and was extremely nervous/excited to meet me, which they said they had never seen him like that before. He also ditched the bros to watch the game with me which was huge. Overall, it was an amazing first date.
What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?
Lisa: When I first saw Eric I was instantly attracted to his eyes. He had these soft blue eyes that looked so kind. He pulled out the seat for me and opened every door, he was such a gentleman.
Eric: When I first saw Lisa I was instantly attracted to her intelligence and witty personality.
Tell us your engagement story!
Eric proposed on May 23rd. Originally Eric wanted to propose back in March but Covid had other plans. The proposal was extremely thoughtful and worked out better than we could’ve imagined. His parents wedding anniversary is 5/19 and this year was their 30th wedding anniversary. My parents wedding anniversary is 5/24 and they were celebrating 34 years of marriage but also 40 years being together. (They were high school sweet hearts). Eric decided to propose right in between them on the 23rd. He coordinated with our families (his parents, my parents, my sister and her fiancĂ© were all there when it happened.) Eric proposed at Belo Mansion in downtown Dallas which is where his parents got married!
My sister and her fiancé came down from Tulsa for the weekend. They brought their dog Winston as well. My sister had the idea to get dressed up and to go take pictures with our dogs because she wanted a new Instagram picture. I never say no to a photoshoot! We went and took pictures at Klyde Warren Park in downtown. After, my sister suggested going to a mansion right around the corner. When we got there, I saw Eric and our parents. I quickly gave Bentley to my mom to hold and walked over to where Eric was. Eric explained the significance of where we were before he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He had made a heart using rose petals. Afterwards, we all went back to his parents house and celebrated being newly engaged.
What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?
We are most excited to finally start a life together as a married couple. We are excited to celebrate with our friends and family.
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Enjoy every moment. It can easily become stressful but you will never get this time back so try to enjoy it as much as you can!
How was your overall session experience?
Kimberly did an AMAZING job. We felt extremely comfortable the entire time. She helped direct us into poses that would be flattering. They may have felt uncomfortable but the ones she let us see were incredible. I loved that you let us see a couple as you were going. I know many photographers won’t stop and show during the photoshoot so it was awesome that you did that. It made us more excited to keep going and doing the awkward poses because we knew they looked amazing.
Share something interesting about your significant other!
