Kimberly and Grant’s Fall engagement session at the Dallas Arboretum was super cute…just like them. 🙂 I enjoyed exploring new areas of the arboretum and getting to know them a little better! It is the first session all year that has really felt like fall. Cool breeze, mild temps and fall colored foliage everywhere. It made me want to grab a sweater and a pumpkin spice latte on the way home.
I can’t wait for these two to say “I do” at Chapel Ana Villa next year! Kim showed me some pics of her dress and her bridesmaids dresses and all I can say is WOW. It is going to be a beautiful day!
Here are some of my favorites from Kimberly and Grant’s Fall Engagement at the Dallas Arboretum. Enjoy!
More about the couple
How did you two meet?
We met on-line on the dating site OkCupid. They have pre determined questions and one of them was “I could probably beat you at…” While my answer was “a Disney Trivia contest” his answer was ‘a thumb war.” So, I sent a message in response to his answer with “I doubt it” and he told me “Challenge Accepted.” After chatting a little bit we met up at The Shops of Legacy and the rest is history.
What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?
Kim: Grant has the ability to make me laugh no matter what mood I am in. He really missed his call as a stand-up comedian. He is extremely sweet and complimentary toward me. Plus I think he is extremely handsome.
Grant: It’s the way she laughs, she laughs with her whole soul. Her eyes and her smile create a synergy that could power a thousand stars in a thousand galaxies.
Tell us your engagement story!
One night at home, we were listening to music and had cooked dinner. We had just sat down to eat when one of our songs, Glory of Love by Peter Cetera started to play. Suddenly, Grant said “Kim, I really need to you take a drink of your wine right now.” Playing a long, I picked up my wine glass and when I looked at it I noticed the ring at the very bottom (just like in the movies). I remember looking at him and saying “Oh my gosh, are you serious?” He ended up fishing the ring out of my wine and asked me to marry him.
What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?
Kim: Walking down the aisle toward Grant and seeing his face light up when he sees me for the first time that day.
Grant: I am excited about bringing all my friends and family together to share in the celebration of the love that we found.
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Remember that while you’re trying to find the perfect dress or the perfect venue, what really matters is that you found the perfect guy for you. That is the most important thing. Don’t get so caught up in planning a wedding that you lose sight of the fact that you love each other and are about to start a life together.
How was your overall session experience?
It was great. I was really nervous but Kimberly put my mind at ease and knew exactly how to pose us and where the best picture spots were.
Share something interesting about your significant other!
Kim: He has the most serving heart I’ve ever known as he just wants to help people.
Grant: Her library of romance novels and understanding of romantic literature is fascinating. And she is the sweetest, kindest person I’ve ever met.
I hope you enjoyed Kimberly and Grant’s fall engagement session as much as I did.
