But there was something truly enchanting about capturing Jingjing and Kevin’s engagement session at the Dallas Arboretum during the vibrant and colorful fall season. This lovely couple’s love for each other, combined with the stunning backdrop of the Arboretum’s autumnal beauty, created a visual masterpiece that I’m excited to share with you. With their wedding scheduled at the Hall of Lights in Carrollton next year, this engagement session marked the beginning of their journey toward forever.

One of the perks of being a Dallas-based wedding photographer is having access to the magnificent Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, which transforms into a magical wonderland during the fall months. The abundant foliage, brilliant fall colors, and the warm sunlight create an ideal setting for engagement sessions. Jingjing and Kevin chose this venue for their engagement session, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect choice.

More About The Couple

How did you two meet?

We met on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel back in 2013 in Boston, MA. He liked my profile and I liked his so we matched on the app. Then we met up for coffee and the rest is history.

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?

Jingjing was initially attracted to Kevin’s muscles but then what attracted to her more was his chivalry. Kevin thought Jingjing had pretty eyes, but as time went on, he learned she was very gentle and kind.

Tell us your engagement story!

Jingjing and I planned a trip to Honolulu for her birthday and I took this opportunity to propose. Initially I wanted to propose on the first day when we went hiking at Diamond Head, but weather and crowds of people deterred me from choosing that spot. It didn’t feel romantic with the rain and crowds around us. The second day we woke up bright and early for the Lanikai Pillbox Trail and somehow ended up lost on a different entrance to the trail, but this surprise hike gave me a chance to pick a spot with the sunrise with us alone. We somehow ended up in a spot with the view in the background and sun rising up. I asked her to pose for a picture and when she turned around, I asked her if should would marry me. She laughed and giggled but said “Yes”!

What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?

We are excited to have all of our family and close friends together to celebrate. Kevin and I don’t have family in Dallas so it would be nice to see all of them here together. We just want to enjoy the moment on our wedding day.

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

We would advise that other couples start planning early and getting a wedding planner is so worth it!

How was your overall session experience?

We had a great experience with Kimberly. She is so experienced and amazing at what she does. She makes you feel super comfortable and we had a great time sharing laughs with each other during our session.

Share something interesting about your significant other!

Kevin may come off as a gym rat but he really loves watching anime and Disney movies while snuggling with our two dogs Charlie and Chloe. Kevin is obsessed with all kinds of animals, its kind of cute.

Jingjing has her hobby of learning how to make cocktails and sharing her recipes at potlucks and dinner gatherings. She has so much fun making drinks for all our friends.
