Fall Engagement at Murrell Park | Joey and Christa

Engagement Session

Dallas-Fort Worth Wedding Photographer | Fall Engagement at Murrell Park

I pulled up to Christa and Joey’s Fall Murrell Park Engagement session 15 minutes early thinking “why do I always get places so early?” Only to find out that they were there too!!!! Kindred spirits perhaps?

It was such a joy getting to know Christa and Joey (and Chief)! These guys may say they feel awkward in front of the camera, but as far as I’m concerned they are naturals. In fact, I don’t think they can take a bad photo. I even joked that Chief posed better for pictures than my 8 year old. LOL

I cannot wait for their wedding next Spring at Lucky Spur Ranch. Thanks for choosing us to capture it for you!

Here are some of my favorites from Christa and Joey’s fall Murrell Park engagement session.

More about the Couple

How did you two meet?

We met when we were both in the Army stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas. We didn’t work together though, so we actually met at a bar called Little Bit of Texas!

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?

Joey always says my smile and that I had super white teeth (LOL!) I always say his super blue eyes and cute dimples 🙂

Tell us your engagement story!

We got engaged when we were on vacation in May with some of our closest friends from the Army. Every year we try to get together and this year we went to Palm Beach, Florida. We were at a rooftop hotel bar overlooking the beach, and I never expected it then- especially since I had always said “no public places!” But it was actually very sweet and off to the side so only once it happened and all our friends were cheering did others at the place catch on. We were taking a “girls pic” and then Joey sort of snuck behind so when we were done taking the picture he tapped my shoulder and when I turned around there he was on one knee. Of course I said yes immediately!

What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?

We are excited for all of our friends and family to be in one place! Since neither of us are from here we love when friends and family come to visit.

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

Have realistic budget expectations. You get what you pay for and this is your day you only get to do once!

How was your overall session experience?

Amazing! We both feel awkward in front of the camera and Joey hates taking pictures. With Kimberleys posing help and amazing instructions it was so much easier! Also we had our pup Chief with us who was a model 🙂

Share something interesting about your significant other!

Oh no neither of us are that interesting hahah. A little more about us is: Joey is from California and grew up working on a dairy farm (so if you have any questions about milk he’s your guy lol). He joined the Army as a Cavalry Scout in 2015.

I’m from New Jersey. I recently started school again at TCU for my DNP degree to be an APRN, Clinical Nurse Specialist and did undergrad at Rutgers University in NJ. I commissioned into the Army in 2015 as a Nurse Corps officer. I’m actually still a Captain in the Army Reserves!

We have our dog Chief ( a 2 year old Belgian Malinois) and our cat Lilly! On our days off together we like to go in the pool, catch up on TV shows, and hang out with our friends.
