Oh, friends, buckle up because this Christmas in the City engagement session has my heart absolutely twirling! Angela and Jesús are tying the knot this summer at Christ the King Church, and let me just say—their Downtown Dallas engagement session was pure magic from start to finish!
We kicked things off at none other than the Adolphus Hotel, which was already dressed to the nines in Christmas splendor. Talk about festive vibes! Angela and Jesús were glowing brighter than the twinkle lights on the towering tree in the lobby.
Angela looked stunning in a dark green dress that complemented the holiday decor so perfectly, while Jesús was every bit the dashing groom-to-be in his sharp, tailored blue suit. They strolled hand-in-hand through the beautifully decorated streets of Dallas and we even managed to sneak in a few shots in front of a giant Christmas Tree, which felt like a scene straight out of a holiday romance movie.
From the Adolphus, we made our way to the Performing Arts District. Oh, the modern, clean lines of the Winspear Opera House and the Meyerson Symphony Center were a gorgeous contrast to the cozy holiday vibes we started with. It was like stepping into an urban fairytale.
The Performing Arts District gave us the perfect mix of architecture, urban charm, and dreamy golden-hour light. Angela and Jesús shared so many candid moments that had me grinning ear-to-ear behind the camera. Whether they were walking hand-in-hand across the plaza, stealing a kiss under the soft glow of the evening lights, or just giggling at an inside joke, every moment at this session was perfect!
This session has me even more excited for their wedding day. If their engagement shoot is any indication, their Christ the King wedding is going to be an absolute dream come true! Angela and Jesús, thank you for trusting me to capture this beautiful season of your lives. Counting down the days until your big “I do!”
For now, enjoy some of my favorite images from their Christmas in the City engagement session in Downtown Dallas!

More About the Couple
How did you two meet?
We met through a young adult organization in the Dallas area. Jesús was volunteering for the organization and it was Angela’s first time attending the organization. We struck up a conversation and exchanged contact information. A few weeks later we went on our first date and haven’t looked back since.

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?
When I first met Jesús, I was struck by his genuine kindness towards everyone he talked with that night. It was such a great quality and something I instantly admired.
When I first met Angela, I was struck by her bubbly personality and boldness in the way she carried herself. She is a great compliment to me.

Tell us your engagement story!
We got engaged in Oklahoma City at the Botanical Gardens . Although Jesús tried to play it cool, Angela was onto him from the start of the trip when she saw the champagne bottle coming rolling out of the backseat of the car once they hit the road to Oklahoma City. Not to mention that Jesús is the world’s worst liar (which is a great quality in a future husband!). Angela pretended not to notice, and Jesús ultimately surprised her with the proposal set up within the garden.

What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?
We are both excited to start our lives together and embark on our next big adventure together.

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
The beginning of engagement felt like a full on sprint. Just embrace it! I promise it will die down.

How was your Christmas in the City engagement session experience?
We instantly loved Kimberly from the moment we saw her photos online to when we met her on our first video call. We are thrilled for our wedding day and the photos we’ll get to take with her. She’s been phenomenal! ( Aww, thank you!!! You guys are AMAZING!)

Share something interesting about your significant other!
Jesús and I knew we were destined to be together when we hiked over 50 miles in 3 different national parks in 4 days together. Not many people would find enjoyment in those types of adventures!

Absolutely beautiful bride-to-be!!! And the groom is okay I guess… hahahaha. Love the shoot!
