Dallas and Destination Wedding Photographer | Wedding Photography Tips

As a wedding photographer, capturing those magical moments on the big day is just the beginning of the journey. A crucial aspect of this profession is the post-wedding workflow, where you transform raw shots into breathtaking memories that couples will treasure forever. In this blog, we’ll delve into the intricacies of a well-structured post-wedding photography workflow, showcasing tools and techniques that help me deliver my clients’ cherished moments efficiently and with excellence.

Step 1: Culling with Aftershoot

After a long day of photographing a wedding, I’m usually left with a massive collection of images. The first step in my post-wedding workflow is culling, the process of selecting the best shots. This process use to take a least a week of meticulously going through thousands of images to find my perfect shots. Now, I use Aftershoot to help me with the culling process in 1-2 days. Aftershoot is a valuable tool that simplifies the task of sorting through thousands of images for the ones you want to deliver. It enables you to quickly review and flag your best images while discarding the duplicates, blurs, or less-than-stellar shots. This stage ensures that I work with a refined collection of images, making the editing process more manageable and much more efficient.

Step 2: Editing Efficiency with Imagen AI

Once you’ve culled your photos, it’s time to enhance them. Image editing is a crucial part of the post-wedding workflow, as it brings out the true beauty of your shots. Imagen AI is a game-changer in this regard. Using artificial intelligence, it assists in the automated enhancement of reception photos, ensuring consistent quality and a polished look. This not only saves you time but also guarantees a level of quality that exceeds your clients’ expectations. Some photographers like to use this program on full galleries, however, I much prefer to edit myself for much of the day. Receptions are the exception for me because the lighting is mostly the same once I pop my flash on and control my own light. Since I deliver a lot of reception shots, using Imagen to edit those takes a lot of pressure off so that I can hand edit the images from the first part of the day.

Step 3: Blog Stomp for a Stunning Blog

As a wedding photographer, I’m not just a visual storyteller; I’m also a curator of memories. Sharing a blog about the wedding is a wonderful way to create a beautiful narrative of the day. Blog Stomp is my tool of choice for this task. It enables me to create stunning, collaged images that tell the story of the day in a visually engaging way. By showcasing highlights in a blog post, I get to provide my clients with a glimpse of the magic captured on their wedding day.

Step 4: Gallery Delivery with Cloudspot

The gallery delivery service is the moment of truth in my post-wedding workflow. Cloudspot is my reliable partner in this phase. It provides a secure and elegant platform for delivering the final image gallery to my clients. The intuitive interface and customization options make it easy for couples to browse, select, and download their images.

Step 5: Quick Teasers and Timely Blogging

One of the elements that sets me apart is my commitment to delivering a sneak peek within 24 hours and a full blog within 1-2 weeks. These quick teasers build anticipation and excitement for my clients, and the blog tells the story of their special day. My speedy delivery demonstrates my professionalism and dedication to making their experience exceptional. I like to use Instagram to send sneak peeks and post teasers. This not only allows me to tag the couple but also vendors.

Step 6: Underpromising and Overdelivering

While my contracts state an 8-week gallery delivery time, I often exceed my clients’ expectations by delivering much sooner. This practice not only showcases my reliability but also leaves my clients delighted with the speedy return of their cherished memories. Underpromising and overdelivering is a winning strategy that enhances my reputation and builds trust with my clients.

So, there you have it–my post-wedding workflow. I hope you found it useful!
