A black-and-white, tropical-modern wedding blending art, fashion, and a show-stopping surprise dance
Wendy and Christine said their vows outdoors on the terrace at Loews Hotel in Arlington, Texas, timed perfectly to the setting sun. The couple chose a first look before the ceremony — a smart call, since golden-hour light was nearly gone by the time guests were seated. That first-look decision meant they still walked away with romantic, sun-drenched portraits despite a tight sunset window.
Framing the ceremony space were intertwined art sculptures Christine created herself — a deeply personal touch that (almost literally) cost her a finger during construction. The couple has called it “worth it,” and the sculptures became a central visual anchor for the entire ceremony backdrop.
Wendy and Christine, Thank you for letting us celebrate with you! It has been a pleasure getting to know you both! Please enjoy some of my favorite images from their Black and White Wedding at Loews Arlington.

Design & Decor: Tropical Foliage Meets Black-and-White Elegance
The design concept paired lush tropical foliage with a strict black-and-white palette, creating a look that felt both editorial and organic. The dress code extended the design straight into the guest experience:
- Brides: All white
- Guests: All black
The result was a wedding where the guests themselves became part of the decor, visually merging with the black-and-white styling rather than standing apart from it.

Venue Experience: Loews Hotel, Arlington, Texas
Loews Arlington was buzzing on the wedding day — the hotel was simultaneously hosting a large conference, and a Savannah Bananas game was happening at the stadium across the street. Despite the crowds and cross-traffic of events, the wedding team found the hotel’s spaces flexible and fun to explore, using multiple areas of the property for photos, cocktail hour, and the reception.

Cocktail Hour: Live Music & Signature Cocktails
Guests were welcomed into cocktail hour with live music and a curated signature drink menu, including:
- Margaritas
- Old Fashioneds
- Dirty Martinis

Reception Details: Magazine Cover Photobooth & Engagement Portraits
The reception leaned into an editorial, magazine-inspired concept:
- Large-format engagement portraits were displayed throughout the space
- Select engagement images were redesigned as custom magazine covers
- A magazine-cover-style photobooth let guests create their own “cover shoot” selfies, tying the photobooth directly into the black-and-white, editorial theme

The Showstopper: Christine’s Surprise Dance to “Love on Top”
The unforgettable moment of the night came when Christine surprised her new wife, Wendy, with a fully choreographed dance and a mid-performance outfit change, set to Beyoncé’s “Love on Top.” It was widely regarded as the highlight of the reception — a spontaneous, high-energy moment of celebration between the couple.
