Some weddings follow a script. Tori and Jack’s did not — and that’s exactly what made it unforgettable. Set against the rustic charm of The Gardenia in Valley View, Texas, their celebration was a joyful mashup of color, creativity, and pure personality, surrounded by family and friends who’d traveled in from all over the country to be there.
A Philly Beginning
Tori and Jack’s story actually started far from Texas. When Tori made the move to Philadelphia, she had no idea the city would also hand her a future husband. Their connection grew from there, eventually bringing them — and a wedding’s worth of out-of-state guests — back to Texas to celebrate.
Color Everywhere
If there was a theme to this wedding, it was joy expressed in color. Rather than matching bridesmaid dresses, Tori let her bridal party shine in a mix of yellow, blue, and pink, creating a bouquet of personalities standing beside her at the altar. The personal touches didn’t stop there — Tori hand-painted each bridesmaid’s hanger herself, turning a simple “getting ready” detail into a one-of-a-kind keepsake that set the tone for a day built on thoughtful, individual flair.
Ice Cream Instead of Cake
Skipping the traditional wedding cake, Tori and Jack brought in the Pokey O’s ice cream truck to serve guests ice cream sandwiches instead — a sweet, playful twist that had people lining up with smiles (and no regrets). It was the kind of detail that gets talked about long after the last bite.
Putt-Putt at Cocktail Hour
Cocktail hour got its own personality too, with a putt-putt golf setup giving guests something fun to do while mingling, drinks in hand. It was a small addition that made a big difference, breaking the ice and getting people laughing before they’d even sat down for dinner.
Chuy’s, BINGO, and a Whole Lot of Fun
Food came courtesy of Chuy’s, keeping the celebration feeling warm, festive, and distinctly Texan. And because Tori has a well-known love of BINGO, the couple found a clever way to weave it into the reception: tables were dismissed to dinner using a live BINGO game, turning a usually mundane moment into one more reason for the room to laugh together.
As the night went on, a live band kept the energy high, and the dance floor stayed packed for hours. There’s nothing quite like watching a room full of people — many of whom had just met that weekend — dancing side by side like old friends.
Uniquely Tori and Jack
From hand-painted hangers to ice cream sandwiches, from BINGO-style seating to putt-putt golf, every detail of this wedding reflected who Tori and Jack actually are as a couple. Nothing felt borrowed from a template — it felt like them. And for the friends and family who traveled near and far to be part of it, that authenticity is exactly what made the day at The Gardenia so memorable.
Congratulations, Tori and Jack — here’s to a marriage as colorful and joyful as your wedding day. Enjoy some of my favorite images from your colorful celebration at the Gardenia.
