From the moment I walked into The Springs Valley View and saw what From A to Z Designs had created, I knew this wedding was going to be something truly special. Lush, rich florals in every jewel tone imaginable — spilling over every surface. The sheer variety of blooms was breathtaking. It was the kind of floral design that makes you stop mid-step and just take it all in. They did it again, and then some.
The First Touch
Rather than a traditional first look, Macy and Tex chose a first touch — standing on opposite sides of a door, hands intertwined, sharing a quiet moment before seeing each other. And then came the letters. They had each written something to read aloud, and I don’t think any of us were quite prepared for what Tex had written.
The romantic literary backdrop gave the whole space an atmosphere of timeless love — exactly the right setting for two people who clearly have a gift for the language of the heart.
Like Old Friends
This wedding held a special place for me personally. Having photographed Macy’s sister’s wedding last year, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know this family — and walking into that room felt like coming home. Familiar faces, warm hugs, easy laughter. There’s something quietly profound about being welcomed back into a family’s most important moments. It never gets old, and I’m so grateful for it.
The Ceremony
The ceremony itself took place in the little white chapel on the property, and it was everything a wedding ceremony should be — intimate, earnest, and full of meaning. Hearing Macy and Tex exchange their vows and watching the people who love them most gather to pray over their marriage was genuinely moving. Simple and sacred, all at once.
After the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktails, apps, and that very important lavender chai. Then the reception began, and Macy and Tex wasted absolutely no time getting to the good part.
The Dances & The Cakes
The evening opened with a first dance that was everything — tender, romantic and a little goofy. They had the whole room locked in on just the two of them. They followed it with dances with their parents, a tradition that hits differently when you already love the family. Then it was time for cake, and Macy and Tex arrived with two very distinct visions.
Macy’s
Sophisticated, romantic, and deeply gorgeous. Macy’s choice of deep green as the base with soft vintage-style piping in pink was an absolute showstopper — a cake that looked right at home among those extraordinary florals.
Tex’s
Tex’s groom’s cake was a massive, fully realized Rubik’s Cube — colorful, clever, and completely on brand. An instant crowd favorite.
The contrast between the two cakes said everything about them as a couple — Macy’s refined elegance alongside Tex’s playful wit, side by side and perfectly balanced. One of those details that makes you smile and think: yes, these two are exactly right for each other.
The End Of the Night
Then they danced. And danced. And kept right on dancing. The energy on that floor was electric from the very first song, every single person in the room fully committed to celebrating these two until the last possible second. When the final song was called, every last bit of joy had been wrung out of the evening.
As guests streamed out into the night waving sparklers, Tex — having danced with his entire soul — simply lay down on the floor. It was, without question, the most perfect ending to a perfect day I could have imagined.
Macy and Tex…Thank you for allowing me to be there to celebrate you — not just as a photographer, but as someone who genuinely loves your family. Your wedding was a feast for the eyes and the heart, and I am so honored to have been there for it. Wishing you a lifetime full of color, dancing, beautiful words, and lavender chai lattes.
