Introducing the new Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert!!! Jessica and Austin had their wedding at Morgan Creek Barn last Friday and it could not have been a more perfect day! They grew up in the same town their whole lives but started dating senior year in high school. Jessica was drawn to Austin’s sense of humor, his ability to light up a room and his passion for relationships with friends, family and God.
I fell in love with these two during their engagement session at Mitas Hill Vineyards and I can totally attest to Austin’s sense of humor and easy going nature! He is extremely funny and had us laughing throughout the session! I feel incredibly blessed to work with such amazing couples!
Jessica was the most stunning bride in her wedding dress from Terry Costa Bridal. Austin’s eyes swelled as she walked down the aisle….their eyes locked on each other. It was truly precious!
During the toasts, Jessica’s two sisters did the cutest song parody to High School Musical’s ” What I’ve been looking for” It honestly was the best toast ever. They sang …
“It’s hard to believe, that y’all are married Now you’ll never be alone Now that you’re hitched It’s time to have kids Or maybe you can take it slow (no pressure)
Jessica, you’re like no other We want you to know That we’re going to miss your clothes We’re good at stealing those But there they go
And you’re always running late –  You’re making Austin wait –  For every date… Now Austin you’re up -We’re passing the buck – We’re here to wish you luck… ”
Jessica and Austin, thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer! it was an honor to be there and to celebrate this new chapter of your lives! I know God has wonderful things in store for you guys! I hope you enjoy these favorites from your wedding day at Morgan Creek Barn! #GoingGilbert #DitchingDecker
What was your Wedding Planning Experience like How did you feel, how did you handle any stress?
We had an 11-month engagement. That gave me just enough time to have a stress free planning process in terms of deadlines and how quickly things needed to get done. Any time I feel stressed, I remind myself that it is only one day, and the real reason this day is so important is because I am marrying my best friend!!! Once I came to that realization, it made the whole process much more enjoyable.
Planning was a cakewalk until we started getting into the nitty-gritty of expenses…you can daydream all day long, but if it’s not in the budget, cut it out! That was the only flaw to constantly eyeballing Pinterest…you might love what someone else did at their wedding, but you might have half of their budget. That can be a hard pill to swallow! Once I accepted that every bride has a different budget, the process became more exciting!
Advice to Brides who are currently planning their Weddings
Don’t let the little things psych you out! In the beginning, I was being so anal about linen fabric, appetizers, and how to entertain people during happy hour. I was putting too much thought into the things that nobody will remember! You have to remember that your guests are there to celebrate you and your new spouse! They won’t remember what color your custom koozies are, or what color your table napkins are…promise!
