Dallas Arboretum Engagement Session | Dallas Wedding Photographer
Meredith and Brady’s Dallas Arboretum Engagement Session was so beautiful and the perfect start to my day. Despite the was hot and humid morning, Meredith and Brady were as sweet as could be. We chatted as we walked the grounds. They’ll be getting married this winter at Broadway Baptist Church with a reception to follow at Mira Vista Country Club.
Thanks for letting me be apart of a small part of your journey! So excited to celebrate you at the end of the year!
Here are some of my favorites from Meredith and Brady’s Dallas Arboretum Engagement session. Enjoy
How did you two meet?
We met when we were 10 years old when we were put in the same fifth grade class! Then we spent the rest of junior and high school in the same academic and extracurricular classes. We reconnected after our freshmen years of college at different universities and have been together ever since!
What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?
Meredith: We were young when we met and fell in love but I remember how I always admired his work ethic. Brady always did so well in school and excelled in music performance and I wanted to be like him. I found we shared similar values in these areas and it was always easy conversation with him.
Brady: We would have such a good time when we would be together, and I enjoyed talking to her as she could always made me laugh.
Tell us your engagement story!
As we currently live in San Antonio, we were driving up to our hometown on December 23rd to go home for Christmas. We planned to go to the Dallas Mavericks basketball game that night when we stopped by Brady’s sister’s apartment in Dallas.
At that time, I didn’t know it was to wait until the rain cleared and it got dark as when we got in the car, Brady requested we drive by his undergraduate campus, Southern Methodist University. He wanted to see the Christmas lights that we would visit at New Years when he was a student.
When we got there, he asked me to get out and walk over to the lights. I was getting suspicious but thought this couldn’t be the moment as he was letting me walk over to the lit Christmas tree with my raincoat hood on! I then saw someone poke out behind a pillar of Dallas Hall, who I eventually recognized as my younger sister acting as a secret photographer, and figured it out. Brady kneeled down in the rain in front of the giant Christmas tree and asked me to marry him. It was beautiful! We did still end up going to the Mavericks game later that night but were so distracted with the retelling of all his planning that we couldn’t tell you what happened at that game!
What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?
We’re excited to share our love with all the people that we love from all the different corners of our lives.
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Our advice would be to get the most time-sensitive vendors booked first. Additionally, remember that this day should be about you two as a couple and to do things the way YOU want to!
How was your overall session experience?
Our session with Kimberly was amazing! We were a little nervous but those nerves were quickly quieted as Kimberly is so detail-oriented and great at directing posing, expressions, etc. She made the hot and sweaty morning at the Dallas Arboretum beautiful and fun!
Share something interesting about your significant other!
Meredith: Brady played the trumpet from middle school through college and received a degree in music!
Brady: Meredith had a fear of cats when we first adopted our two kitties two years ago but is now the ultimate cat lady!
