I am trying to get better blogging some of my family sessions, and Lawson’s first birthday cowboy session seemed like the perfect session to share. When I see these images, I am filled with so much gratitude. Watching this sweet boy turn one felt surreal, especially knowing just how many milestones I’ve had the honor of capturing for his incredible parents, Parker and Becca.
From their engagement session to bridal portraits, their wedding day, their gender reveal, newborn photos, and now Lawson’s first birthday—what a blessing it has been to walk alongside their family through so many unforgettable chapters. Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do.

A Little Cowboy Turns One
Lawson showed up absolutely ready for his big milestone moment in the cutest little cowboy hat you’ve ever seen. Truly—mini boots, denim, and that tiny hat perched on his head… I just about melted. His personality is already so big and joyful, and he stepped right into the cowboy role like he was born for it.

The Cake Smash Showdown
No first birthday session is complete without a cake smash, and Lawson did not disappoint. Once he realized the cake was all his, he dove in with the perfect combination of curiosity and delight. Frosting on his hands, frosting on his face, frosting on the floor—he gave us everything we hoped for and more. His giggles made every messy moment even sweeter.

A Session Rooted in History and Heart
This family has trusted me with some of the biggest moments of their lives, and that trust is something I don’t take lightly. Watching Parker and Becca grow from engaged sweethearts to incredible parents has been such a joy, and capturing Lawson’s milestones feels like celebrating alongside them.
These photos are more than just pictures—they’re the story of a family I’ve come to adore, framed in tiny cowboy boots and birthday cake crumbs.

Happy first birthday, Lawson.
And to Parker and Becca—thank you for letting me continue to document your beautiful journey. What a gift it is to watch your family grow. 🤍
