Claire and Tom’s gorgeous Hidden Pines Wedding is now on the blog. When I say, it seems like I’ve been waiting for this day to come forever…I am not kidding. I met them over a year ago at their engagement session. At the time, they were planning a Halloween 2020 wedding but like so many other couples, plans changed due to Covid-19.

I feel like I know Claire so well (Thanks, Instagram!) and I enjoy her funny captions and pictures of her sweet golden retrievers.

I have to say that I have never ugly cried at a wedding until this one. When Tom spoke at the reception, he gushed about how how excited he was after his and Claire’s blind date. He called his brother and just went on about how amazing she was and that he did kiss her at the end of the night…and felt the need to clarify that she was in fact a girl. LOL

Then, Tom told the story of their engagement. It was beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Tom had planned to do a big romantic proposal by taking Claire to his hometown of Chicago to see the Cubs and be surrounded by his Mom and family. However, Tom was informed that his mother who was battling Cancer was being transferred to Hospice. So, Claire and Tom changed their plans and flew to Chicago early so that she could be present for his proposal. At his mother’s bedside, Tom played the voicemail he left for his brother after their first date as he asked Claire to be his wife.

Tom and Claire, I seriously am so happy for you and can’t wait to see where life takes you next! You guys are the sweetest, most caring people and you deserve every happiness in the world. Thank you for letting me be apart of telling your story.
