There’s something magical about a summer wedding at Brighton Abbey — the warm light, the lush gardens, the feeling that the whole season is celebrating alongside the couple. Elizabeth and Rhett’s wedding captured all of that and more, and we’re so excited to share the highlights from this beautifully planned day, brought to life by the team at Lovely Event Co.
A Chapel Filled with Light
The ceremony took place in Brighton Abbey’s stunning chapel, where windows lined every wall and let the summer sunshine pour in. At the front of the room stood the true centerpiece of the ceremony: a breathtaking floral arch, lush and romantic, that framed the couple as they exchanged vows. Platinum Petals truly outdid themselves with this one.
A Flower Girl Moment to Remember
One of the most heartfelt details of the day came from the couple’s own daughter, who served as flower girl. She was wheeled down the aisle in a charming white wagon decorated with bows — bows that were originally part of Elizabeth’s mother’s wedding dress. It was a gorgeous way to carry a piece of family history into this new chapter, blending sentiment and sweetness into one unforgettable moment.
Cream and Blush, Everywhere You Looked
Custom drapery transformed the reception space into a soft, romantic setting, while roses in cream and blush filled every corner of the day — from the ceremony to the reception tables. The palette gave the entire celebration a timeless, elegant feel that tied every detail together.
Cocktails in the Garden
As the ceremony came to a close, guests made their way outside to enjoy cocktail hour in the garden area, soaking up the summer evening air before the party truly began. Jeremiah Brinkley serenaded guests while they sipped summer cocktails and nibbled on the most delicious passed apps.
An Entrance to Remember
When it was time for the reception, Elizabeth and Rhett made their grand entrance through cold sparks at the door — an unforgettable, show stopping moment that set the tone for a night full of energy and celebration. Elizabeth and Rhett shared their first dance as newlyweds, followed by a father-daughter dance between Elizabeth and her dad. Then, in one of the sweetest moments of the evening, Rhett shared a dance with his little girl —cue all the heart eyes!
A Night of Dancing and Joy
The party was led by Jeremiah Brinkley, who kept the energy high and the dance floor full all evening long. Between the music, the laughter, and the joy radiating from every corner of the room, it was clear this was a celebration meant to be felt, not just watched.
