Dallas Wedding Photographer | Hotel Crescent Court | Klyde Warren Park
I met up with Kim and Jeff at Crescent Court Hotel for their downtown Dallas Engagement Session. These two came dressed to perfection and were up for anything! I love when that happens. After spending some time at Crescent Court, we moved to Klyde Warren Park to end the session. It was a fitting location because Klyde Warren Park was actually where Kim and Jeff had their first official date!
I loved getting to know Kim and Jeff! It is such an honor to be the one that gets to capture this special season of their lives! They’ll be getting married this September at D’Vine Grace Vineyards in McKinney.
I hope you enjoy their Downtown Dallas Engagement Session. 🙂
More about the couple
How they met?
Kim and Jeff met in August 2020. Yes! In the midst of a pandemic! Kim moved down to Texas from Minnesota and wanted to meet people and make a fresh start. Her cousin told her about this Facebook page that was geared not just towards dating but connecting people in order to meet friends. Jeff noticed when Kim joined but he thought “oh, she’s way too young”. Much to his surprise Kim made a post and said she was looking for friends 40 and over! That got Jeff’s attention fast, maybe she’s not too young?!?!
No one truly knows how the next part of the story really goes. Kim thinks that Jeff made the first friend request, however, Jeff is pretty sure Kim did that all on her own! Regardless of who initiated the first “nudge”, they spent time talking and agreed they wanted to meet. So, they met and from how Jeff describes it was literally “love at first sight”.
Although they both had a great evening and enjoyed each other’s company, they weren’t sure if they would be more than just friends. Regardless, they knew they liked spending time together and over the next 2 months spent hours talking, going for walks and getting to know each other.
In October 2020, Kim was up in Minnesota visiting her boys and family! Kim arrived back in Dallas and when Jeff picked her up, she KNEW they were not just friends. From that moment on they knew that they were meant to be together.
Proposal Story
Fast forward to May 13, 2021, the moment she said yes! Jeff, with Krista’s help and support, had every detail taken care of … he met with Kim’s family and her sons, he met with his 2 kids, and picked out the ring. Now for the tricky part, surprising her.
The engagement was magical and felt like it was right out of a fairytale. Jeff had arranged for her boys, Stephen and Johnny, to surprise her at the proposal. He had the Bella Donna Chapel at the Adriatica Village in McKinney reserved, had a “fake” photographer there who was getting ready for “a wedding the next day”. Kim’s mom, dad, sister, her boys and Jeff’s kids were hiding in the brides room. Each were holding a single rose that each was going to be presented to her.
Kim and Jeff were looking around this beautiful chapel and ended up right at the alter (imagine that)! All of the sudden “their song” , I Get to Love You by Ruelle, started to play. Jeff whispered a few words to Kim and then his kids entered, each giving her their roses. Then her mom, dad, and sister each entered separately, each giving her a single rose. The family was gathered, Kim was crying (a lot) and Jeff said “I really wanted the boys to be here” making it sound like he couldn’t pull that off. When all of the sudden Kim began crying even more when she saw her two sons, walk in and present her with their roses. Jeff got down on one knee and everyone is sure Kim said yes!
