Darcy and Brandon’s Flower Mound Engagement at Murrell Park was so much fun. These two are up for anything. They didn’t even bat an eye when I asked them if they wanted to jump in the water.
I met Darcy when she was a bridesmaid for Alex and Hunter’s wedding in June. I had so much fun with that group of ladies and now I am so excited that Darcy is a #KHPBride!
These two are just perfect together and I am so thankful that we finally got the chance to get their engagement pictures done. They will be tying the knot at The Springs in Denton next year.
Here are some of my favorites from Darcy and Brandon’s engagement session at Murrell Park.
About the Couple
How did you two meet?
We met in college at a Halloween party at (the now leveled) Rockin Rodeo! We both went to school at the University of North Texas and were involved in the Country Western Dance Club. We had the same friends but had never met till we crossed paths on Halloween. Brandon was dressed as a lumberjack and Darcy was the Sundrop Girl!
What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?
Darcy- well to be frank, Brandon had a great beard and is super cute, so I totally called dibs with my friends! He is so fun and an AMAZING dancer, so his charisma drew me in.
Brandon- Darcy is smokin hot! She has an incredible sense of humor, so her dancing caught my eye but her hilarious costume made me so interested.
Tell us your engagement story!
So Brandon had to change his plans a few times with COVID. After I started becoming very suspicious, he had our good friends throw me off the path. I believed that I was helping our good friend propose to his girlfriend, all the while Brandon was planning it for me. One Friday, he told me he was going to work and I thought nothing of it, all the while he had gone to Old Alton Bridge in Denton to prepare for the next day. Brandon cut back the overgrown tree branches, picked up all the trash, and even repainted the bridge to its original red to cover up the graffiti so the pictures would be perfect. (I found out after and almost cried!! He is so stinking thoughtful!) So, Saturday July, 11th, when I got ready to go surprise our friends for their engagement, I showed up to the bridge to find it covered in rose petals and all our closest friends and family (in masks) waiting for the surprise. He got down on his knee and asked me to become his wife and we got to celebrate with all the people most special to us!
What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?
That we get to be married!! We have been best friends for 5 years now, so thinking about making that commitment in front of our family, friends, and God is just totally awesome. And we can’t wait to dance, that’s always a must.
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Do it the way you want it- of course take into consideration necessities, but it’s your day! Your wedding is a reflection of your values as a couple and a chance to celebrate exactly how you want. Make sure that you can have fun after all the stress of planning!
How was your overall session experience?
So cool! Kimberly is beyond helpful with posing and making you feel comfortable, so it was fun to just hang out and feel like models! And getting to be creative and try different things with posing and locations was perfect!
Share something interesting about your significant other!
Darcy- Brandon is a dictionary of music lyrics. He actually loves musicals and Disney movies, so he is always singing something catchy! Brandon-
Darcy is practically Betty Crocker. She is an amazing baker and makes the best chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had hands down.
I hope you enjoyed these images from Darcy and Brandon’s engagement session at Murrell Park in Flower Mound as much as I do!
