It was an absolute pleasure meeting Katie and Matthew for their Dallas Garden Engagement session. They were so sweet and easy going. They’ll be saying “I do” this summer at One Preston Events and I for one, can’t wait.
More About the Couple
How did you two meet?
We met at work. We do the same job and when he started at the company, I helped train him.
What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?
He made me laugh. We met during a difficult time in my life and every day he’d come into my office and tell me some goofy story just to make me smile.
Tell us your engagement story!
We were supposed to have a date night with dinner and movie at home. I picked us up dinner from Pappadeuxs he had ordered. We ate dinner like usual and afterwards I was a little disappointed because I love sweets. He usually always surprises me with a dessert when he orders us dinner. That night I noticed there was no dessert. I was little disappointed because I thought for sure he would get a slice of cheesecake or something. As I was quietly pouting in my head he said “close your eyes. I have a surprise for dessert.” When I opened my eyes there was a cookie bouquet on the table with the center cookie shaped like a diamond ring with “Will you marry me?” on it and he was down on one knee.
What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?
Seeing Matthew for the first time on our wedding day. Having that special moment where it’s just the two of us soaking in our wedding day together.
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Do what you want and what makes you as a couple happy. Everyone will have opinions. It’s your special day, make it what you want.
How was your overall session experience?
We had so much fun! We both were a little nervous and Kimberly made everything light hearted and not awkward at all. It all felt natural and we walked away so excited to see how the pictures turned out.
Share something interesting about your significant other!
He loves all things LSU! He went there to college and is still a huge fan, attending games and watching every sporting event possible. I joke LSU was his first love.
