Earlier this week I met up for Anne and Wyatt’s Fall engagement session at Murrell Park. The weather was perfect other than the wind. So thankful though for the cooler temps and rich, warm colors in the foliage. Who else loves this time of year?

Anne and Wyatt will be getting married next year at Chapel Ana Villa in The Colony! I am so excited to be there to celebrate with them!

More About the Couple

How did you two meet?

We technically met in elementary school in kindergarten but didn’t become close friends until high school.

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?

Obviously Anne is beautiful, super smart, and funny that automatically draws people in. We have a lot of common interests in food, music, and entertainment but for me it was just how easy it was for me to talk to her and everyday it became clear that I just wanted to talk and be around her.

The first thing that attracted me to Wyatt how smart he is. Other than my dad, he’s the smartest man I’ve ever met! I used to think I knew a lot, but over the past 9 years of dating he has taught me so much. I’m so thankful and lucky that my life partner can find solutions to any problem that comes our way.

Tell us your engagement story!

Victoria, Texas only has a couple of nice restaurants so I rented out a private room getting her to think it was a dinner for her parent’s anniversary and one last nice dinner before we moved to Dallas. Our parents went to the restaurant early to decorate it without her knowing anything. Anne is usually good about picking up on things when something is going on but by the way her face looked when we opened the door I can say that she was surprised! We looked at all these pictures I picked out of us from the years we have been dating and eventually got on one knee. Obviously she said yes!

Can confirm – I was SO surprised! Of course it was a no-brainer, but the photos he displayed at the proposal over our past 9 years of dating really put everything into perspective and made me so much more excited that we will get to do life together forever.

What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?

What gets me the most excited is thinking about what it’s going to look like when the chapel doors open and I get to see her for the first time in her dress!

I’m excited for the special 1 on 1 moments after the ceremony. We’ve been waiting for this day for awhile so I’m super excited to let it soak in and celebrate that we are husband and wife!

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

It’s better to plan early than to wait, especially when booking vendors/venue in a big city. Always go look at a venue in person. You may love it online but not be so impressed in person. Our venue was actually not our initial favorite and was on the bottom of our list until we saw it in person.

Also, try not to overthink things. Start with your must haves and figure out how to make those things happen. It’s y’all’s big day and you deserve to have everything you ever wanted!

How was your overall session experience?

It was amazing!! The helpful posing tips and small things like fixing my hair in the wind were so invaluable. We got amazing photos and I’m so excited to see what shots we get in our wedding gallery that I know will be stunning.

Wyatt is left-handed! I can’t relate, but I think it’s super cool and unique.

Anne sleeps with her eyes half opened and will not remember our conversations when she is half asleep.
