Airfield Falls Engagement Session | Erin and Timothy

Engagement Session

June 18, 2020

I had such a great time at last night’s Airfield Falls engagement session with Erin and Timothy! These two will be getting married in August at The Barn at Paradise Plantation!

These two are super sweet and I am so thankful that I get to be there to help them celebrate with their friends and family. Erin and Timothy, Thank you so much for trusting me to capture one of the most important days of your life. I am so excited!

Here are some of my favorites from their Airfield Falls Engagement session!

More about the couple

How did you two meet?

We met on the dating app Hinged! I feel like that’s becoming more and more normal these days!

What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?

His profile really stood out to me because he had a question/answer that asked “Predestination or free will?” This intrigued me because I’m in ministry and I hoped that Timothy was a strong Christian because he asked this question. Timothy turned out to be one of the most loving and steadfast Christian men I’ve ever met. He’s everything that I prayed for and more!

Tell us your engagement story!

Since the beginning of our relationship, Timothy and I have always been on the same page about our timeline. We both wanted to get engaged at our 6 month anniversary and get married 3 months after the proposal.

In case you didn’t know, planning a wedding takes an extended amount of time usually, so planning one in three months is a lofty goal. I wanted to get a head start on picking out a wedding venue to secure an August date, so I scheduled several tours for us and my family.

At our first venue tour, The Barn at Paradise Plantation we looked at both outdoor ceremony spaces, we decided the first one was our favorite!. Timothy walked me down the aisle and I was thinking to myself, this might be the place where we get married!

When we got to the alter, Timothy had gotten some rain on his glasses, so he asked me to hold the umbrella while he got out a lens cloth. Timothy got the lens cloth out of his pocket and dropped it on the ground – but little did I know it was a distraction while he got the ring out of his other pocket. He knelt to the ground to pick up the lens cloth but when I looked down, He was holding an engagement ring!

He asked me to marry him and, of course, I said yes! This was such an amazing moment that I’ll remember forever!

We decided that we want to get married at The Barn at Paradise Plantation, at the same ceremony location where we got engaged!

It was such a perfect day, and I feel so incredibly blessed that God placed a man who wanted to make this day special! Timothy is a wonderful man and he is one who I’ve been praying for my whole life! Praise be to God!

What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?

I’m most excited for the ceremony! I can’t wait for Timothy and I to come before God and our families and become one!

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?

I had trouble keeping up will all of the vendor emails, and appointments. I would suggest creating an email address specifically for wedding stuff. This way, it doesn’t get mixed in with work and personal emails. It should have a dedicated space!

How was your overall session experience?

The session was so wonderful! Timothy and I aren’t naturally photogenic so we thought it would be tough but the process was fun and easy!
