There’s something magical about an engagement session that captures the essence of a couple’s love story. And when that session takes place in a setting so picturesque that it feels like a little slice of Italy right here in Texas, you know you’re in for something special. Rachel and Lance’s engagement shoot in Westlake was just that—an enchanting blend of romance, elegance, and a touch of European charm.
As soon as we arrived in Westlake, I was struck by how the location seemed to transport us to a quaint Italian village. The cobblestone walkways, stone-covered walls, and the soft glow of the golden hour made everything feel like a scene straight out of a storybook. Rachel and Lance were the perfect couple to bring this setting to life. They are down to earth, funny and so easy to talk to. It was such a pleasure getting to know them as we explored the area.
Rachel looked effortlessly chic, her flowing dress catching the breeze just so, while Lance’s tailored attire complemented her perfectly. Together, they created a picture of timeless romance, framed by the beautiful architecture that surrounded us. It was easy to forget that we were in Texas and not wandering through the streets of a small town on the Amalfi Coast.
As we wrapped up the session, I couldn’t help but feel even more excited for Rachel and Lance’s wedding day in February. They’ll be saying “I do” at the beautiful Brighton Abbey in Aubrey, and if this engagement session is any indication, their wedding is going to be absolutely stunning.

How did you two meet?
Lance messaged me on Hinge and we chatted for a few days. He asked me on a date and I did not get back to him for 4 months, lol. I needed up reaching out & we went to Second Rodeo in the Stockyards and the rest of history!
What was it about your significant other that first attracted you to them?
Lance: “I loved Rachel’s long dark hair and that she was an Aggie because my mom is an Aggie”
Rachel: “I loved Lance’s sense of humor and how he made me feel special from the first time we met”
Tell us your engagement story!
Lance told me that he wanted to take me on a nice dinner date but we had to go look at our house we were building first to sign some papers. He then surprised me on the foundation of our new house with flowers and pictures.
What has you most excited when you think about your wedding day?
Lance: “I am excited about having all of our friends and loved one in one place to celebrate us”
Rachel: “I am excited to marry my best friend and the love of my life and tear it up on the dance floor with my friends.”
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Do what YOU want but let others help if you can. It is so stressful to carry the weight on yourself. Soak it all in because you will only be a Fiance for a short amount of time.
How was your overall session experience?
Rachel: “SO fun. Kimberly made us laugh the whole time and made the experience so enjoyable. She told us poses to do and it was not awkward at all.”
Lance: “I was nervous coming in but it was really fun. She’s professional and gave us the best opportunities to shine.”
Share something interesting about your significant other!
Rachel: “Lance is a jokester, but deep down is a softy. He is loyal to a fault and would do anything for his family and friends”
Lance: “Rachel always keeps me wanting more. She’s my best friend and my sunshine on my cloudy days.”
