A cold front blew in on the day of Emma and Derrick’s Morning Wedding at Fortunata Winery. It was in the 40’s but the only thing anyone cared about was the fact that these two people were finally getting married!!! My associate, Jessica, did a fantastic job of capturing this beautiful day and serving them so well.

Just scrolling through their images, I can see how fun this couple is and see that they both radiate joy. They had a morning outdoor ceremony followed by a delicious brunch. Just looking at those waffles made my mouth water.

From the Bride

What is the inspiration for your wedding day?

We wanted to have fun! Our biggest goal in our wedding is to have a party for our loved ones to join us – but not a life altering day. A wedding is a celebration of the marriage. We both love mornings, just the soft light and quiet pace, along with breakfast food of course! The winery was very natural with the vineyard on sight, but we LOVE the small chapel! It’s a little too small for what we wanted, but I love the look of the white chapel so we’re getting married in front of it.

Tell me a little bit more about your dinner + reception!

It’s brunch & mimosa bar so we have family style tables (not matching) in the tuscan courtyard. We’ll have a bit of dancing, but more “fun” vibes. Instead of a cake cutting, we’re doing a syrup pouring for our waffle cake. I’m also making scones for the guests instead of cake ( i really love scones)

What was your Wedding Planning Experience like How did you feel, how did you handle any stress? Was it easier or more difficult than you first thought?

Young Emma thought it would be so simple to plan a wedding but goodness! The decisions and communication across multiple different groups was challenging while working full time, but overall it was a ton of fun!

Advice to Brides who are currently planning their Weddings

1) It’s your day – do what YOU want!

2) Hire a wedding planner, or at least day of coordinator. It’s so important to be present for the day you’ve been planning and dreaming of for so long.

3) Just elope… haha
